Adelman recognized for his unwavering commitment to combating hate and promoting human rights
PHILADELPHIA (April 11, 2025) – ADL proudly awarded the prestigious 46th annual Americanism Award to David J. Adelman, CEO of Campus Apartments, co-founder of FS Investments, founder of Darco Capital, and a partner of the Philadelphia 76ers.
For over four decades, the Americanism Award has honored leaders in business, community affairs and charitable endeavors who distinguish themselves and their organizations through their dedication to preserving liberty and advancing the cause of human rights, respect, dignity, and equal opportunity.
On April 10, The Good Fight celebrated Adelman’s remarkable contribution to the battle against antisemitism and hate on the local, national, and global levels, at The Bellevue in Philadelphia. “All people deserve to live life free of fear. As a community, as a city, we work for this, day in and day out, for people of all faiths”, said Adelman.
David J. Adelman is a Philadelphia-based entrepreneur. He is the CEO of Campus Apartments, a nationwide provider of student housing based in University City; the co-founder and vice chairman of FS Investments, a leading alternative asset manager; a partner in Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, a family of global sports teams including our very own Philadelphia 76ers, and the founder of Darco Capital, his family office dedicated to investing in and supporting companies and their founders. Adelman has always adopted the fighting spirit of his late grandfather and Holocaust survivor Sam Wasserman to support and protect the Jewish community and has passionately stepped up for all people.
