ADL DENOUNCES LATEST ROUND OF BOMB THREATS TARGETING JEWISH INSTITUTIONS IN THE REGION

ADL denounced the latest wave of bomb threats targeting Jewish institutions in the region and across the nation. At least five Jewish Community Centers and one Jewish Day School in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware were threatened today, and many of the institutions had to evacuate while law enforcement conducted investigations. This is the fifth round of bomb threats against community centers and other Jewish institutions in the United States in the past few weeks.

NEW ADL BEAU BIDEN SHIELD AWARD WILL HONOR REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT

ADL announced the establishment of the ADL Beau Biden SHIELD Award, honoring law enforcement who have made strides against hate in the tri-state region, through combating hate groups, extremism and terrorism; preventing and/or responding to hate crimes and bias-motivated activity; and promoting civil rights. The award is named after the late Delaware Attorney General Joseph R. “Beau” Biden, III, who has been hailed as a tireless advocate for civil and human rights.

ADL Calls Reports of Jewish Family “Fleeing” Lancaster County Untrue, Damaging

“News reports alleging that a Jewish family has ‘fled’ Lancaster County are untrue and damaging,” said Nancy Baron-Baer, ADL Regional Director. “We spoke with the family, who explained that they went on a previously-planned vacation for the holidays. Stories like this can sow fear in the Jewish community and beyond, and it is important to stop the spread of misinformation.”
