ADL “Concerned” by Grandview Golf Club’s Treatment of African American Members

The Anti-Defamation League (“ADL”) today expressed concern at reports that Grandview Golf Club (“the Club”) in York County called on police to remove five African American women playing a round of golf, despite the fact that the women had reportedly not violated any rules and were adhering to course etiquette. After arriving at the scene and taking statements from both parties, Northern York County Regional Police made no arrests.

ADL COMMENDS REGIONAL MAYORS FOR PLEDGING TO FIGHT AGAINST HATE

ADL commended ten mayors in the Philadelphia region who pledged to fight extremism and bigotry by signing the Mayors’ Compact to Combat Hate, Extremism and Bigotry. The Compact, a joint initiative of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Anti-Defamation League, was signed by more than 300 mayors nationwide, and provides local governments with a 10-point plan to effectively fight prejudice in their communities.
