Pennsbury Schools Designated No Place For Hate

  • October 13, 2015

Three Pennsbury schools have been designated No Place For Hate facilities.

Students at Pennwood Middle School in Lower Makefield, Oxford Valley Elementary School in Falls Township and Walt Disney Elementary School in Tullytown learned recently their schools had achieved the designation that is awarded after a year of anti-bias and anti-bullying programs.

Each of the schools held ceremonies that were attended by a representative from the Anti-Defamation League. At the events, each school received copies of the No Place For Hate banner.

“To earn this distinction, each school formed a No Place for Hate committee, adopted a resolution pledging to create a more inclusive school, and implemented a number of projects promoting respect for differences,” according to a district newsletter.

This year was the first that Walt Disney earned the designation. Oxford Valley has a No Place For Hate school for four years and Pennwood is in its second year of earning the title.
