Hands-On Civil Rights: ADL Next Generation Leadership’s MLK Day of Service

In honor of MLK Day, ADL’s Next Generation Leadership and Glass Leadership Institute members alike volunteered their time at the Broad Street Ministry, participating in what was the very first Monday meal service. Our roles as volunteers ranged from food preparation, to serving tables and busing, to handing out garments from a clothing lottery that the guests could participate in.

The experience was a humbling one, to see volunteers and community members from such diverse backgrounds all tied together by one common thread; a genuine appreciation and desire to be there.

It was a privilege to work with such an upstanding organization, committed to bettering the lives of those in need in our community. This is just the beginning to a wonderful relationship of serving more meals while fostering our timeless mission of diversity and acceptance.
