ADL Participates in International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference

The Anti-Defamation League participated in the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference October 19-22nd in Philadelphia, PA.  IACP is the largest association for police executives in the world and their annual conferences are attended by almost every major law enforcement executive in the country.

In addition to promoting ADL’s law enforcement work with a booth set up in the exhibit hall, the largest law enforcement expo in the world, the ADL conducted a workshop discussion on the Law Enforcement and Society training program entitled “The Holocaust and its Meaning for Law Enforcement Today.”  The workshop featured presentations and remarks by ADL Washington DC Regional Director David Friedman, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, and Marcus Appelbaum of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

ADL also held an Centennial Breakfast during the conference to serve as a reunion for participants in ADL’s National Counter-Terrorism Seminars in Israel and our Advanced Training School, and a way to highlight our Centennial and strengthen our partnerships with major law enforcement executives from around the country. The program included remarks from Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, Israel Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino, and ADL’s Civil Rights Director Deborah Lauter. Guests included Chiefs of Police of major cities such as Atlanta, Washington DC, and San Francisco and executives from major federal law enforcement agencies which include: the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives;  US Immigration and Customs Enforcement; US Marshals Service; Army Threat Integration Center; and Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
