For most educators, summer is a time for reflection, relaxation and rejuvenation. The summer also provides the time and space to learn something new, read articles and review curricula that you haven’t had time to do during the school year and to connect with other educators without the pressure of time. Below are 11 ways for educators, and others who work with children, to take advantage of new resources and brush up on their anti-bias education practices.
2. Reflect on bullying and other social-emotional development issues by reading Rosalind Wiseman’s (best-selling author and bullying prevention expert) instructive essays in Rosalind’s Classroom Conversations.
3. Visit our Current Events Classroom and consider approaches to bring current events into your K-12 classroom to teach about bias, diversity and social justice.
4. Review our Book of the Month selections and Recommended Multicultural and Anti-Bias Books for Children to find excellent children’s books with anti-bias and bullying prevention messages.

6. Plan an in-depth curriculum unit on immigration, anti-Semitism, cyberbullying, LGBT history and other topics using our K-12Curriculum Connections.

9. Talk with a young person in your life about how to respond to bullying and build their ally skills.
10. Join other educators and attend our summer trainings throughout the country in Echoes and Reflections, the leading Holocaust education program.
