ADL’s WALK Against Hate is an ambitious initiative that brings together people from all walks of life to make a bold statement rejecting hatred and bigotry and celebrating our differences. The WALK is intended to underscore that whether it takes the form of bullying within our schools, disparaging remarks on the internet, harassment in the workplace or intimidation and ridicule in a sports arena, hate must be opposed by all of us.
ADL is providing our community with this opportunity to take part in the WALK to inspire our children, to give them hope for the future, to teach them by example, to allow them to make a valuable contribution, to learn from and have fun with people of different backgrounds and to join together to support an organization that fights for fair and equal treatment for all.
The WALK Against Hate is a 5K that takes place every third Sunday in May on Martin Luther King Drive adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The WALK will feature:
- free t-shirts
- bottled water, fruit and other snacks
- child-friendly activities such as face-painting, balloon animals and a scavenger hunt
- A diversity expo with family activities and helpful information about diversity initiatives in our area
